How Much Exercising Should you Do
To maintain good health, you need to continue to be as active as you possibly can. Sure, you may not be able to go out and race in a marathon, but you still can incorporate some activity into you daily activities.
Getting the right amount of exercise is more important as you age. Keeping a good regiment of walking in your daily routine will increase your heart conditioning from the increased heart rate. Follow your physician’s advice on how much is the right amount for you individually as your specific needs may vary.
Increase the intensity of your exercise program. As you age, the muscles need even more activity to stay strong and tight. Do 30 minutes of cardiovascular activity, four to five days per week. Mix it up with some strength exercises twice per week. This will help your body stay fit, which could ward off other issues seen as you age.
It is suggested that you include at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day. Maybe you could take a 15-minute walk twice a day to start with. Dust off that old bike and take a ride around the neighborhood.

Another tip for staying young, even when your body is aging, is to keep learning. Learn more about playing bridge, how to use a computer, gardening, woodworking, or whatever you wanted to learn earlier in life but didn’t have the time to do. Never let your brain remain idle!
Sign up to a new class. As mentioned above, it is never too late to learn something new, so consider attending some public lectures or joining a community class. Choose a topic you are interested it, whether it is computers, crafts, philosophy, foreign languages, or quantum physics.
Exercise your brain by striving to learn something new every day. Keeping the brain active also keeps it healthy, sharp and alert. It sounds crazy, but if you stop working this precious organ, you may just forget how to use it. If you’re not sure how to keep it active, buy a book of brainteasers and solve them all.
Identify something you have always wanted to learn and take lessons or read about it. Whether it is playing a musical instrument or just learning more about a particular subject, continuing your education either formally or informally is a great way to keep your mind and body active and engaged.
Take a computer course or have someone teach you the basics of the internet. It can take you places that you may never see in your life. It is like a vacation or a journey that you can take from the comfort of your own home. There are so many things that you will learn while on the internet.
Two Ways to Avoid Stress
1) Stop multitasking! Your mind cannot function the way that it once did. You will find it easier and far less stressful if you do not try to accomplish as many things at once. Avoiding stress is important as you get older to avoid doing damage to your heart and your body.
2) Start Meditating! To combat aging, meditate in your home or join a group that has meditation sessions once a week. This will help you to focus your energy on something positive and reduce the amount of stress that is in your life. Meditation can help your skin look much better and improve your aesthetic beauty in many ways.
Remember, you are only as old as you feel. If you try to remain active and continue doing those things you enjoyed when you were younger, you will actually remain healthier and more fit than if you sit around. Don’t act like a teenager, but do continue to participate in volunteer activities and sports that you enjoy.
